Administering the WIAT:

Audience:

Current Registered Psychologists, Registered Provisional Psychologists, and Masters level Clinical Psychology/Applied Psychology/Counseling students, resource teachers.

Prerequisites:

Masters level introductory course in formal assessment.

Objectives:

  • Introducton to the history of the WIAT
  • What does the WIAT measure?
  • How is this information beneficial for clients and how can it be used?
  • Learn and practice administration of the WIAT
  • Learn and practice proper scoring of the WIAT
  • Learn and practice interpreting WIAT results
  • Learn and practice reporting results of the WIAT in professional written report

Take the next step in learning formal assessment by learning to administer the WIAT-III (the WIAT-IV is expected to be released in Canada in the fall of 2024). This course includes important foundational understanding of the assessment measure, how to properly administer the WIAT, how to score, and how to interpret results.
